YOUR CHOICE OF RIDINGS SKILLS FROM RECREATIONAL TO COMPETITION

We welcome men, women, and children 8 years old and up. (*Special limited program for riders 5-7 years old). Prospective students are invited to observe lessons and meet the instructors before deciding to enroll in the program.  The lesson program follows the school year beginning in September and going through May. Students are asked to commit to the full year.  It takes consistent work and time to achieve genuine riding skills.

All riders or their guardians are required to sign a Liability Release form. Long pants or breeches must be worn. Riding boots or paddock boots with a 1” heel are required. (No sneakers or hiking boots).  An approved riding helmet is also mandatory. We have some riding helmets available to loan until the student purchases their own.

Group lessons are one hour and include how to groom, tack up, and put away the horse. Expect to learn mounted skills at walk, trot, and canter. Lessons progress to include more advanced dressage and jumping.  To refresh riders and horses, trail rides are occasionally included.  We also have in-house schooling shows. These are casual, fun, educational, and affordable.  Becky Brown’s program is approved for off campus P.E. credit for many Dallas private and public schools. We also have an adult Quadrille Team!

The School of Horsemanship has approximately 15 horses varying in age, size and training. All are safe, patient and well mannered.  We say that each horse has a special “gift” to teach the rider.

We also have several different partial lease programs to offer students depending on their needs.  The school horses are available to lease on a monthly basis to allow students to practice their skills and enjoy the horses during non-lesson times.

When a student is ready to purchase their own  horse, we can help you select the right horse for your skill level and goals.
