Competing

We train competitors.

For students with their own horse (owned or leased), there is the option to participate in a number of local schooling horse trials, recognized USEA horse trials, USDF dressage competitions and the occasional schooling jumper/dressage show.

We do not require anyone to show, however we know many students love a chance to demonstrate their skills. We are happy to help guide new horse owners through understanding what competitions are the right fit. When riders are interested in purchasing a horse, we provide consultation throughout the entire shopping process to best ensure an appropriate match of horse and rider. For riders not ready to purchase their own horse, we offer fun and informal in-barn shows with our lesson horses.

One of our long time students who has trained with us since she was seven years old competing in dressage at Quail Run where she won a blue ribbon.

Many of our students begin their journey with us from summer camp and then grow into competitive riders. This student started that way and has been training with us for more than 5 years. She now competes at schooling shows and ended her first competition season with two blue ribbons!

She and her pony Toy Soldier put in the work and you can find them at the barn 4-5 days a week training and enjoying camp with their barn mates.

Maria joined the school very young, began competing as a teen, and now is a successful veterinarian.

“The determination, responsibility, and compassion for animals learned at Becky Brown's School of Horsemanship have been invaluable in my success as an equine veterinarian.” - Maria Granello

Drue began riding with the school at age 8, competing at 12, and now as an adult still participates in lessons and enjoys leasing William.
